BfN Support Group - Ambleside
Breastfeeding support for parents within the Wokingham Borough area. Come along to this group session to get support from BfN volunteers and also to chat to other breastfeeding mums and parents whilst enjoying a biscuit and a cold drink (the centre has a no hot drinks policy).
General info:
- Booking details are monitored by staff and volunteers within BfN Wokingham
- If you wish to bring a partner with you, the volunteers will need to check with any other attendees if they are comfortable for them to be in the room too. We recognise the importance and great benefit of having partners there too, but also just want to make sure everyone receiving support feels comfortable. (If necessary, it may be that your partner would wait outside the room for a few minutes whilst they feed, or we do a bit of furniture rearranging, or it may be fine as is). Thank you for your understanding. You may wish to also look at booking a 1:1 appointment.
- Cold refreshments can be available
Arrival
- If arriving by car, you can either park on Arundel Road (1 minute walk from the Ambleside centre), or use the payable parking at the library/LIDL car park. Please do not park in the Ambleside Staff car park, it is for centre staff only. NB: if you are a blue badge holder there are some spaces available in the Ambleside staff car park available for you.
- If you bring a pram or pushchair with you, please use the Buggy Shelter provided - this is important as Ambleside has a policy of no buggies inside the centre and they have asked us to ensure this rule is met for those attending our appointments too.
- Please go to Reception to sign in and then go through to the Family Room where our breastfeeding support appointments will take place. (Whilst you are in Reception the children’s centre may ask you to complete a membership form if you aren’t already registered with them. This can be done beforehand online if preferred, to save time on the day)
- Please use the hand sanitizer provided.
Appointment
- Please also be aware that some parents might still wish to wear masks when attending a group or other support - this will be supported.
- If possible, try to keep some distance from people outside your household.
Equipment will be cleaned at the start and end of the group.
