Our peer support volunteers are offering face-to-face support at Finchampstead Children’s Centre (Finchampstead Baptist Church, address below). Confidential, non-judgemental support available to any mother/breastfeeding parent, whether they are pre- or post-natal and regardless of the age of their child/ren.
Our volunteers have breastfed their own child/ren and have been trained to guide mothers and breastfeeding parents through the basics, help them to get breastfeeding established, and to listen to any questions or concerns regarding any stage of a breastfeeding journey.
General info:
- If you wish to bring a partner with you, the volunteers will need to check with any other attendees if they are comfortable for them to be in the room too. We recognise the importance & great benefit of having partners there too, but also just want to make sure everyone receiving support feels comfortable. (If necessary, it may be that your partner would wait outside the room for a few minutes whilst they feed, or we do a bit of furniture rearranging, or it may be fine as is). Thank you for your understanding.

- Booking details are monitored by staff and volunteers within BfN Wokingham.
Arrival
- The address is: FBC Centre, Gorse Ride North, Finchampstead, RG40 4ES.
- If arriving by car, free parking is available – the car park it is often very busy so you may find it helpful to allow extra time in case you need to find a space on the nearby roads.
- There is wheelchair access to the centre.
- Please use the hand sanitizer provided.
Appointment
- Please also be aware that some parents might still wish to wear masks when attending a group or other support - this will be supported.
After the session: Please note - your messages to wokingham@breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk are stored/deleted as per our policies (https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/privacy-notice/) and your contact details will only be used to send you information for the specific session you have contacted us about. As per BfN’s Information Governance policies, in case of queries/complaints from service users, we record first names of the service user, date of session, volunteer present and generic topics discussed (no identifiable information). This is stored securely online for 8 years and then securely destroyed.
