Event description
The annual day conference for doctoral student members of the British and Irish Association for Practical Theology (BIAPT).

About this event

An opportunity to network with other students, share your research, and have a go at presenting a paper at an academic conference in a supportive environment specifically for doctoral students. There will also be space for discussion and feedback.

The conference is intended to strengthen the postgraduate community in BIAPT and provide the chance to explore current research in practical theology.

This event is open to all doctoral students – whether you are studying part-time or full-time, for a professional doctorate or doctor of philosophy, you are very welcome to get involved!

The day conference will be held online on zoom. It will consist of:

  • A workshop on writing reflexively with Dr Dawn Llewellyn (University of Chester)
  • Student work-in-progress papers/presentations - each paper will be 20 minutes long, followed by a Q&A

Papers are invited from doctoral students on any topic related to practical theology. This could include methodologies, ethics, an introduction to your project/subject area, or a paper based on a thesis chapter. The call for papers is purposefully broad to allow any and all student members of BIAPT the opportunity to present.

Please send abstracts for 20 minute papers (up to 250 words) and a short biography (up to 75 words) to by 25 February 2022.

Registration will open soon. To attend the conference you will need to register for a ticket on the eventbrite page. There is a suggested donation of £5 for attendees - however please not that this is only a suggested donation rather than a set fee, to ensure that this conference is as accessible as possible.
