  • Review of an NEC-compliant programme, with particular emphasis on specific task items to ensure maximum points.
  • Review of an organigram.
  • Review of ways to fulfil social value criteria.
  • The use of a confidentiality statement to protect intellectual property.
  • How to challenge a tender outcome.
  • How to avoid common mishaps when uploading a tender submission to a procurement portal.
  • How to use social media strategically to target new business.
  • Available grants to help with business development.

The event is suitable for anyone involved in bid management including bid writing in the construction industry. The last event included people from main-contractors, sub-contractors, and design consultants.


Facilitator:

Gerard Graham has been working in bid management for over ten years. He has written successful bids for construction projects in various sectors including commercial, education, fit-out, industrial, and heritage. He knows the pitfalls as well as the opportunities to score full points. He has carried out contract work for companies including leading main-contractors, specialist subcontractors, and design consultants. He is a past regional Chair and Fellow Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Will there be refreshments?

Tea/coffee will be served on arrival. There will also be a coffee break mid-way with traybakes and pastries served.

Do I need to bring anything?

You do not need to bring anything. Handouts will be provided. An abbreviated copy of the slides will also be made available by email after the event.

Is the presenter experienced?

The presenter has extensive experience in bid writing and public speaking. At the last Bid Writing Masterclass, every attendee scored the event 10/10 in their Customer Feedback Questionnaire.

Is there parking at the venue?

There is ample free parking.

Can any attendee claim a grant from CITB NI for attending?

Only attendees from CITB NI-registered employers are eligible to apply for a half-day grant.

What's the format for the event?

The presenter will focus primarily on one recent construction project and explain using mostly PowerPoint slides and illustrations how to compile a PQQ and a tender, including a programme and an organigram, to gain maximum points. There will be spot prizes, so listen up!
