Bid Writing: How to Win Funding and Support

A practical, hands-on session designed to equip participants with the skills and confidence to write compelling funding bids. Learn what funders really look for, practice essential bid writing techniques, and discover how to use AI tools ethically to strengthen your applications.

• Structure persuasive, evidence-based funding proposals using the "3 Cs" framework (Clarity, Credibility, Conviction)
• Write clear, impactful bid sections that demonstrate need, solution, impact, and value
• Apply AI tools like ChatGPT ethically and effectively to enhance bid quality

Session Structure

Introduction – The Psychology of FundingInteractive discussion exploring what funders want to see. Introduction to the "3 Cs" framework.

Core Content – The Anatomy of a Strong BidStep-by-step breakdown of five essential bid sections with real-world examples.

Practical Exercise – Write a Mini Bid ParagraphGroup activity writing a "Need" section for a sample scenario, with peer feedback and refinement.

AI Tools Session – Using AI in Bid WritingLive demonstration of effective prompt engineering and ethical AI use in bid development.
