There can be lots to think about when you are running a business and getting some expert advice can definitely help.

Charles Grosstephan is our specialist consultant who focuses on Tendering. He’s from Thornton & Lowe who are public sector supply chain experts and are helping businesses in Liverpool get in a better position to be successful with their bids. Charles will be delivering this useful workshop to take participants through some key areas to consider when looking to grow their business:


  • Introduction to bidding – providing an overview of what bids are about and why they are important
  • Terminology – explaining phrasing and wording to demystify the process
  • Overview of Procurement Act and how it can help – highlighting key parts of the legislation that will help you
  • Tender research – using data and information to help you plan and prepare, including bid pipelines and pre-bid activities
  • Bid/no bid – explaining the key considerations for when choosing to bid or not
  • Writing – summarising the key elements of what it takes to write a strong bid


This session is delivered through the Business Support Service at Liverpool City Council which provides fully-funded support to Liverpool residents looking to create a new business and to businesses based in Liverpool. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority. Limited tickets available - priority places allocated to businesses from Long Lane area.
