Big Battlefield Walks Weekends - Battle of Winwick 1648

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Register of Historic Battlefields in England the Battlefields Trust and its partner organisations are arranging a series of battlefield walks in September 2025.

Come and join the Battlefields Trust to explore the English Civil War battle which took place at Winwick in August 1648. This is part of a a heritage open day at St Oswald’s Church, Winwick at which reenactors will be demonstrating period weapons, clothing, and drill. The church also contains a display of battlefield finds. Walk tickets are free, but limited to 30 people.
