Event description

Description

We engage with words and information everyday, including TV, books, music, blogs, the internet, adverts and the bible. How do we interpret all these messages?

There are a number of different approaches to interpreting the Bible and culture (hermeneutics) and we will explore some of these approaches.
How do people interpret text? Do we acknowledge the role of the author? Can we have a thin or thick approach to scripture? Does the Bible have a transformative affect on our lives?

Clive is the teaching/development pastor at Kirkliston Community church. He studied at BA in Theology and a masters degree in Biblical Interpretation (MTh) from the University of Aberdeen. He enjoys engaging with popular culture especially TV and music. He enjoys reading and has a particular interest in the interface between hermeneutics and homiletics.
