About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

The Big Butterfly Count is a national event that runs from 18 July to 10 August with the aim of monitoring the butterflies we have across the UK.

At the Univeristy of Salford, we'll be taking part in the count to see what butterflies we have on campus and we're asking you to get involved! If you head to the Big Butterfly Count website, you can either downlaod the app or set up an account online. From here you are then able to set up to do your butterfly count.

We'll be meeting outisde Clifford Whitworth Library and from there will go and explore our campus green spaces to see what butterflies we have fluttering about on campus. You can find us with our green sustainability jumpers on outside the library where we will then guide you on a butterfly walk.

The aim is to count as many butterflies as you see during a 15 minute period, so there will be plenty of time to do multiple counts across different areas of the campus.
