Each butterfly count lasts for 15 minutes. If you wish to record your findings on your mobile device, please download the Big Butterfly Count App before the event. Paper recording sheets will be available on the day for you to take home and submit the data through the Butterfly Conservation's website. ID sheets, paper & pencils and clipboards will be available on the day.
All ages are welcome to join in. Participants under 18 must be supervised by an adult throughout the activity and are the responsibility of this adult at all times.
The trees at our Tiny Forest are growing very healthily and are planted with blackthorn, hawthorn and dog rose so please be aware that there may be thorns and the possibility of scratches and snagged clothing. For this reason, please wear full-legged trousers and long-sleeved tops when attending. The ground is uneven and there may be hidden animal holes so please wear sturdy outdoor footwear. If you'd rather spot butterflies and moths from outside the Tiny Forest or from a nearby bench that's perfectly OK, you are still more than welcome to come along and join in with the butterfly count.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at this venue.
Please bring your own refreshments.
