Event description

Description

Join us in York to celebrate change-makers across our region and explore how social enterprise and big business can work together to achieve a positive future for all

  • Keynote address by Liam Black: Liam is passionate about culture, talent and the ‘digital revolution’ and how to lead better in these changing times. Liam was CEO at two pionerring social businesses of their time; Jamie Oliver's Fifteen and FRC
  • Asma Khanum, CEO & Founder at Chatterbug; a rapidly scaling social enterprise based in Leeds
  • Stuart McDonald, DIrector at CLES, (Centre for Local Economic Strategies) will share a powerful data story, outlining the sheer scale of the problems we face and the size of the opportunity.
  • Social enterprise showcase, featuring up to 30 social entrepreneurs that have been supported by the SSE
  • Rubbish dinner (dinner will be provided by some of our brilliant entrepreneurs who intercept food that supermarkets have deemed waste, but that is perfectly edible (maybe slightly mishapen...)

Be inspired by the social entrepreneurs that are actively tackling some of the biggest social and environmental problems in region. Be part of the debate about how we can integrate social enterprise into supply chains and procurement.

Your ticket gives you access to the full event, dinner and drinks

With stunning views across the river, we will be taking up residence within the impressive Aviva conference hall, showcasing the work of our social entrepreneurs and using our fellows and social enterprise network to bring you a dinner that will nourish far more people than are just joining us for the conference, thanks to their work in creating sustainable food networks
