"A lovely event, and a humbling experience. I will definitely be doing this again and encouraging friends to join me!" - Previous Big Sleep Out Participant
2017's Big London Sleep Out is taking place on Friday 17th November. Join us for an eye-opening evening as we bed down in the stands of The Kia Oval, in Kennington. The Big Sleep Out will give a small insight into the harsh realities of rough sleeping. Places are limited, so register now to join us for a unique opportunity to abandon your comfort zone and show support by raising vital funds for The Big Issue Foundation.
The evening will feature live music and entertainment. It will also be an evening of education and inspiration as you hear about The Big Issue Foundation from former and current Big Issue vendors in our interactive panel discussion, and in conversation, before we bed down for the night.
The stands are located outside at The Kia Oval in the open air, but the majority are under cover. It's going to be cold as you'll be sleeping outside in the stall area on the concrete floor. We suggest you bring lots of layers, a sleeping bag, and cardboard to lie on!
"It was a really good experience - people were so friendly, and I got chatting to a few people within minutes of getting settled in" - Previous Big Sleep Out Participant
You can sign up as an individual, or why not get a team of friends or colleagues together? Registration is just £20 per person if you sign up as a team of 5 or more! It’s a great place to meet likeminded people, share an unusual experience and do something to support people living difficult lives across the capital and beyond. We're asking participants to raise just £350 per person to take part in this unique outside challenge. The funds you raise will provide vital support to vendors like Paul on their journeys aways from the streets.
Register now to take part in The Big Sleep Out as there is limited availability. This charity event provides an interesting and thought provoking insight into the lives of people who are homeless and will be a night not to be missed.
