Event description

Description

A rare opportunity for a free of charge, 30-minute face-to-face session with the Big Lottery Fund to pitch your funding idea.

This is your chance to meet with Lillian Nsemwa, the funding & relationship manager for the Big Lottery Fund, Thames Valley. Her role is to offer assistance to any organisation working within Thames Valley looking to make an application to the Fund.

The sessions will be particularly useful for those organisations wanting to apply to Reaching Communities England funding or Awards for All (see below for more information).

Who should attend?

This is for any charity, voluntary or community organisation in Buckinghamshire looking to apply for Big Lottery funds. It may be of particularly interest to community buildings who are looking for funding for refurbishment or expansion of their facilities.

Cost:

These 30 minute sessions are free of charge.

Summary of Big Lottery funds:

Reaching Communities England provides funding between £10,000-£500,000 and can fund some or all of the costs associated with delivering your project such as staff salaries, training, equipment etc. It can also fund up to £100,000 for small-scale capital work.

The most important thing is that it is your ideas to make positive changes in your community and that the people who will benefit will have influenced or be involved in the project. The fund is particularly interested in projects that support:

  • Lasting and sustainable changes to places and spaces
  • Communities to develop happier and stronger relationships with each other
  • Taking action to focus on the root causes of social problems to tackle them at the earliest possible stage

For more detail visit Reaching Communities England

Awards for All from the National Lottery offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support projects and activities that matter to people and communities, usually taking place within a 12 month period or for one-off events.

It is important to show how your project will:

  • bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities
  • improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  • enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest possible stage
  • involve your community in the design, development and delivery of the activities

For more detail visit Awards for All.
