Event description

Description

Join us for our two-year anniversary show!

Hidden World is a collection of fictional short films from emerging British filmmakers, telling the stories of "everyday people" who live extraordinary lives, right in front of us. From the weird to the wonderful Hidden World shows us no matter how ordinary someone may appear, there can be more to them than meets the eye.

Films on the night:

  • Brothers (Directed by Molly Boughen) - Brothers is a story of three brothers who are fighting for their survival on their own in a modern world. They are young boys with adult responsibilities not knowing where to begin but being too proud to ask for help.

  • Sweet Maddie Stone (Directed by Brady Hood) - 15-year old Maddie Stone rules her school yard under the protection of her family name. But after discovering her notorious father has been arrested, she has to make his bail money or lose the yard. The more Maddie fights, the more her world spirals out of control - and the closer she gets to becoming the man she's trying to save...

  • Red (Directed by Branko Tomovic) - A damaged and guilt-ridden man who works in the underground world of illegal organ smuggling is looking for a way out.

  • Devil Town (Directed by Nick Barrett) - Patrick Creedle, letting agent, a bulldozer of a man who’s life revolves around profit and loss, commission and percentage; a man who values the pieces of paper in his wallet more than life itself, save perhaps his own. On this particular lunch hour, on this particular day, Patrick Creedle is about to receive a dire warning from a most unusual nemesis – found only in… Devil Town.

  • Neon (Directed by Mark J Blackman) - NEON is the story of ELIAS - an enigmatic, disfigured man - and MARY, the woman he’s in love with. Their relationship exists only online and via telephone conversations because ELIAS is forbidden – for reasons unclear to MARY – from experiencing love.
