Event description

Description

Big Picture Film Club Presents: Trick of the Mind. This is a collection fo short films exploring differences in realities and perspectives. Featuring a uniquely curated selection of short films from emerging British filmmakers.

Film List:

1. Animus (Directed by Mark J. Blackman) - After years apart, a young couple is reunited under quietly tragic circumstances in this tender yet unsettling drama.

2. Little Thief (Directed by Xavier Guignard) - Global world, alternative reality, the year 2017. Emma and Leo love each other but in a strictly regimented world where women represent 80% of the population, the struggle for being a couple and keeping faith in love is tough. A dark sci-fi thriller, a sensual and powerful satire/role reversal on some aspects of our societies cultures.

3. Nasty (Directed by Prano Bailey-Bond) - It's 1982. Twelve-year-old Doug is drawn into the lurid world of VHS horror as he explores the mysterious disappearance of his father.

4. Afro Punk Girl (Directed by Annetta Laufer) - In a dystopian, post-apocalyptic Britain, a young punk discovers true rebellion when she meets a radical old dandy.

5. Eddie (Directed by John Lynch) - Deep underground, a lone scientist mans a discarded research facility struggling to cope with extreme boredom, a desperate voiceless companion and a mystery he'd really rather not have to solve...
