Big Telescopes Twilight Teacher Training at STFC Rutherford Appleton Labora...
Thu 30 March 2017, 16:00 – 18:00 BST
The recent announcement of the discovery of seven Earth-like planets orbiting a distant star has caused great excitement here at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. We’ll be running a twilight Big Telescopes Teacher Training session on Thursday 30 March, from 16:00 – 18:00, that will allow you to bring this excitement into the classroom, with hands-on activities for Key Stage 2 and 3 students. Come and join us for an interactive twilight CPD session about how we're planning on using Big Telescopes, like the European Extremely Large Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope, to find out more about these newly-discovered worlds.
STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is involved in many projects helping astronomers to see further, clearer and brighter than ever before. Come and learn how to inspire your KS2 and KS3 pupils about exoplanets, galaxies and telescopes!
