The Big Welsh Walk
We're raising money to support the amazing work our volunteers do, repairing and protecting Welsh footpaths so that everyone can enjoying walking for pleasure and health.
We'd love you to join us on our #BigWelshWalk on 6th May 2017 as we walk through the beautiful and dramatic scenery of Devil's Bridge, Ceredigion, the backdrop to award-winning TV detective series Hinterland.
There are routes for all abilities and fitness levels; everyone can get involved, from first timers to regular ramblers. Come alone or with your friends, family, or colleagues, it's up to you - even furry dog-friends are welcome.
Taking part is easy - just select the route you'd like to walk and pop your details in the form.
Woodland Walk, 2 miles
Amble along quiet country lanes, and visit a beautiful community-run woodland - FREE ENTRY (sponsored by Let's Walk Cymru)
King Offa’s Challenge, 6 miles
Walk along a tranquil river valley with a gradual ascent and lovely views - £20 entry
Mary Jones’s Challenge, 10 miles
Take in magnificent river valley views, beautiful forest trails, bridleways and footpaths - £20 entry
Owain Glyndwr’s Challenge, 15 miles
Expect spectacular open moorland scenes, forest trails, and a serene river valley - £20 entry
Participants will receive:
A Big Welsh Walk t-shirt
A Big Welsh Walk medal
Discounts at local attractions, accommodation, and food outlets
The chance to win the latest Hinterland series (to be released 22 May) on DVD in our prize draw (exclusive to participants).
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All ages are welcome. Any participants under the age of 18 years will need to be a responsible adult.
Can I bring my dog to the event?
Yes, you can, but please keep your dog under control at all times. The owner is responsible at all times for the dog, and please be mindful of the length of challenge they are undertaking.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We have plentiful free parking at the base camp, Tynrhyd Retreat in Devils Bridge. Unfortunately, there isn't a train or local bus nearby, the nearest being in Aberystwyth.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, please. This is ease registration at the start of the challenge event, but don't worry if you forget, we will have a full copy of those participating.
