Description

YOU MUST RESERVE A SPOT AND PAY TO ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP

This event is a Training Session for Bike Pool volunteers or those that want to learn the basics of bike maintenance. So if you want to learn bike maintenance skills and practice them, this is the workshop for you. Attendees can also progress to achieve further qualifications via Bike Pool including international bike maintenance standards Velotech Bronze, Velotech Gold, Bike Leader and Bike Trainer through Bike Pool later in the year.

What you need to know:
It is a full day session, including a break for lunch, running 9.30 to 4.30pm in the Kernel Workshop building based within the St Andrews Botanic Gardens (entrance through new gate at Via Duct Walk). The course will go over wheels, brakes, gears/derailleurs, chain, and preventative maintenance, and only costs £15. We will also give you £5 back if you help out at one session during the semester. Ideally you will bring your own bike and be able to work on it (and even get some new parts included in the cost) but if you do not have a bike just let us know. The course will be small and very hands with only 5 slots each day.

What you need to do:
Please book here to confirm a place and day. If you are interested but unable to do this weekend or would like more details, please email transition@st-andrews.ac.uk and we will try to accomadate you. If the course does not run then booking fees will be refunded.
