Who is this study day for?

Any health professional working with children and young people who have Cerebral Palsy with a Bilateral presentation (Spastic diplegia). Students are also welcome.


What will I learn about during this event?

Different strategies and interventions to maximise activity and participation in children and young people with a bilateral presentation of cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia). Speakers and topics are as follows:

1. Botulinum toxin: current research about the impact of Botulinum toxin injections on children and young people who have bilateral cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia). (Lesley Katchburian, Lead Clinicial Specialist Physio for Neurodisability, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London)

2. Promoting participation in activities of daily living. (Heather Holgate, Independent Children's Occupational Therapist, London)

3. Education & Learning: Specific issues and considerations for children and young people who have Cerebal Palsy. (Val Critten, Consultant, Open Uni Centre for Education & Education Technology)

4. Post-Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy rehabilitation: Where are we now? (Stephanie Cawker, Physiotherapy Lead Neurodisabilities, SDR-Clinical Coordinator, Great Ormond Street Hospital)
