Event description

Description

What happens to us in transit - as we move from one place to another? How do we adapt to new circumstances and places? And how does ‘there’ become ‘here’?

This bilingual creative writing workshop will lead participants through a series of fun, practical writing exercises to explore real and imagined experiences of transition. Write in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, a mixture, or any language of your choosing.

Between Here and There is part of From Shore to Shore/Piao Yang Guo Hai/飘洋过海 an arts project funded by Arts Council England and supported by the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds. From Shore to Shore aims to tell stories from Chinese communities in the UK on stage, on the page, and online.

Performances of the From Shore to Shore theatre event will take place at Oriental City Restaurant on May 16th, 17th and 18th. Tickets are on sale at the West Yorkshire Playhouse website. https://www.wyp.org.uk/events/from-shore-to-shore/

For more information on From Shore to Shore please see the website: https://fromshoretoshore.uk/
