Event description

Description

Are you part of a family that speaks several languages?

Are you raising your children to speak a language other than English?

Waltham Forest Bilingual Group is a small voluntary group set up by parents who wanted to get together to share experiences of raising children bilingually and support each other.

  • How will Brexit affect my multilingual family?

  • Should I reduce how much I speak my language in public?

  • How can I help my children be proud of their heritage in today’s context?

  • How can I help my children deal with or respond to negative comments?

Speakers planned include a lawyer and a psychologist/children’s therapist. There will be considerable time allowed for Q and A and discussion.

Funding permitting, we hope to run a children’s storytelling session (ages 4-11) and a crèche (ages 2-4) but places for this will be limited and you must book ahead.

Contact us: www.wfbilingual.org.uk

To request a creche/story telling session place (if running) please email: info@wfbilingual.org.uk stating your name, phone number, name(s) and age(s) of children.
