Event description

Description

Inexpensive plastic has unleashed a torrent of cheap and convenient consumer goods. Plastics are everywhere - our shops, our homes, our offices, our oceans. The UK Government has published a 25-year environmental plan, to leave the environment in a better position – in-part by eliminating unnecessary plastics by 2042. The UK has an opportunity to be the global leader in the fight against plastics. The question, is 25 years simply too long?

From exploding billiard balls to coffee cups, as part of Responsible Business Week 2018, Dr Laurie Wright will explore our world of plastics, its effects on our environment, and ask whether the 25 year environment plan for plastics is too little too late.

During the evening you will also have the opportunity to network with peers over light refreshments.
