This is a half-day course for people working with children and young people in West Sussex.
This course is being delivered through a partnership between Coastal West Sussex Mind, Grassroots Suicide Prevention, YMCA Downslink Group, West Sussex County Council, West Sussex CCGs, and Heath Education England.
If The Hurt Could Talk What Would It Say? (Living with Self Harm)
- To raise awareness of self harm from a young person’s perspective, drawing from a collection of stories and poems
- To explore some of the reasons why young people self harm and challenge the myths that surrounds them
- Identify what works for a young person who self harms, exploring strategies and ways forward in getting the right help
To develop helpful responses to a young persons disclosure and explore how hearing their stories impacts us and how we go about looking after ourselves.
Getting to the Venue
By Car The Billingshurst Centre is located just off the High Street and has on-site parking for up to 70 cars with additional parking nearby. The mainline station is a 15 minute walk.

By Train Billingshurst village lies to the north of the station, and it is a twelve-minute walk along Station Road through leafy residential neighbourhoods until you reach the High Street.
Timings and breaks
The course runs from 1.30am to 4.30pm.
Tea and coffee with also be provided during break times.

Your £10 registration fee is non-refundable.

We are an independent local mental health charity working in West Sussex.
We aim to promote good mental health through the provision of high quality services and through campaigning to improve services, raise awareness and understanding.
Our services support young people, adults, older adults, carers and families affected by mental health problems.
