Starting September 16 (Tue):

Bills and Beats launches a virtual 5-week series for emerging artists and creative entrepreneurs. We learn about core financial principles for financial stability, that any freelance creative needs to understand, and share examples for the modern musician's playbook. And if you're an aspiring creative entrepreneur, learn these finance fundamentals now!

Focusing on budgeting with irregular income, and breaking bad financial habits

The Business Backstage: Legal Structures & Tax Essentials

Explaining tax, expenses, and the differences between being a sole trader/ freelancer vs structuring as a company

Week 3

Charting Your Course: Goals, Debt & Your Credit Score

Talking about types of debt, credit score, and personal financial goal setting

Tuesday 30 September (12.00 - 13.00); Thursday 02 October (19.00 - 19.45).

Week 4

From Gig Money to Growth: Investing & Retirement Planning

Talking about the difference between saving and investing, when to save and when to invest, and then pensions and retirement planning

Week 5

Building Your Cast and Crew: Insurance & Financial Pros

Talking about protecting yourself, your family and your lifestyle with insurance, as well as explaining when you may need to work with an accountant, lawyer or even financial adviser to help you along your journey.

  • Chris will re-visit content from the Tuesday hour for our Thursday meets -- great for those who can't attend on Tuesdays, and for anyone who wants to clarify what they learnt before!

Chris McLoughlin is a financial adviser who's passionate about providing holistic financial planning. He has facilitated financial education workshops for aspiring actors in conjunction with acting academy Collective Acting Studio. Chris works with Frontier Wealth, a Partner Practice with St James' Place Wealth Management.
