Description

THE EVENT WILL START PROMPTLY AT 17:00

Speaker 1 : Nigel Davies - Director of Evolve Consultancy | 17.15 - 18.00

It's All About the DATA

We’ve all heard it; most of us have said it at some point. But what does that phrase actually mean?

According to the Government Construction Strategy, BIM Level 2 is a “collaborative way of working … that requires all project and asset information, documentation and data to be electronic”. Most of us have got our head around the concept of a data-enriched 3D model, we’re familiar with the container naming and exchange requirements defined in the umpteen pillars of BIM, but do we give enough consideration to the structure and use of our data?

Nigel Davies, Director of Evolve Consultancy, and BIM expert, explains the concept of Information Requirements and how the end goal needs to inform the process of design and construction. From the theory of Organisational, Asset and Employers Information Requirements and their direct influence on the scope of a project BIM Execution Plan to the reality of staged information exchanges, this session will describe the pitfalls and successes of data usage. Drawing on case studies and technical examples, Nigel will lead attendees through the process of defining a project’s Level Of Information (LOI) and how best to deliver that data through OpenBIM methodologies such as IFC. Nigel will demonstrate how information can be validated against requirements using Solibri Model Checker and how the models can be progressed through design, into construction and eventually handover.

Whatever software you use for BIM authoring, IFC and integrated model data is something that it is critical to understand. Do yourself a favour and get along to this session. You’ll not look at a model in the same way again.

Speaker 2 : Rhys Lewis - Business Development Director at Revizto | 18.00 - 18.30

Next Generation BIM Coordination

BIM has opened up endless possibilities for improved efficiency. However, without the correct understanding of technology and its workflows very little can be gained.

As the complexity of projects increase, It becomes more challenging to design, build and coordinate a project that can be ready for construction.

As a result, thousands of issues need to be communicated, tracked and solved.

Revizto adds a new dimension to BIM that enables users to have a multidimensional issue tracking and coordination platform. Instantly allowing team members to communicate accountability and address challenges in real time.

Speaker 3 : Alexandra Luck - Director at A Luck Associates | 18.30 - 19.00

Data Security

With the increase in the creation and use of data and information over the lifecycle of assets, and the move to aggregate a wider range of data sources to improve service delivery, this presentation considers the trust and security issues that arise and looks at ways in which they can be practically managed and the resultant mitigation measures maintained.
