About this event
Steve Noble:
Steve Noble studied with Nigeria master drummer Elkan Ogunde and in the early 1980s was a member of Rip Rig and Panic, touring extensively throughout Europe and England. Since then he has worked in a variety of musical contexts but has been extensively involved in improvised music through work with a wide range of musicians.
John Edwards:
A true virtuoso whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role, whether playing solo or with others. Perpetually in demand, he has played with Evan Parker, Roscoe Mitchell, Sunny Murray, Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee, Lol Coxhill, Peter Brötzmann, Mulatu Astatke and many others.
Binker Golding:
Tenor saxophonist & composer. With his ensemble Binker & Moses he has released four critically acclaimed albums & has won as many awards, including a MOBO award in 2015. He also fronts his own group which was nominated for a Jazz FM award in 2020 for best album. He also received the Jazz FM award for instrumentalist of the year in 2020. He is also known for performing improvised music in a duo with Elliot Galvin & alongside John Edwards & Steve Noble in trio format.
Amy Gadiaga Quartet
Amy hails from Paris and is currently studying at Trinity Laban. She is also a member of Tomorrow's Warriors. She formed this quartet in late 2020 after a lockdown full of writing music and self exploration.
Connecting the old school jazz singer’s storytelling and the modern rhythms inspired by artists such as D’Angelo and The Jacksons, Amy's band offers energetic performances that celebrates artistry and freedom
