Overview

The Biochar Demonstrator project is delighted to invite you to our upcoming online event, taking place on Tuesday, 27 January, 10 AM to 1 PM

About the Event

This event is designed for farmers, land managers, and anyone interested in sustainable agriculture. Whether you are already using biochar or simply curious about it, this event is designed to provide valuable insights and foster discussion among the farming and wider agricultural community.

Throughout the morning, we will present updates and insights from two key parts of the Demonstrator project and two farmers involved with biochar.

Soil Science Session: Find out what our scientists have learned about the impacts of biochar on yields, soil chemistry, and soil biology. The team will explain their main discoveries and will be ready to answer any questions you have about using biochar on your farm.

People and Perspectives Session: Learn about the people side of biochar—how farmers feel about it and what their hopes are for using it. The team will share their findings and will also answer any questions you might have.

Hear from Farmers Using and Producing Biochar

We are pleased to feature two guest farmers who will share their experiences with biochar. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask them questions.

· Biochar Farm Trials: Listen to a farmer actively involved in the Biochar Demonstrator project’s farm trials, sharing firsthand insights on the process, impacts, and lessons learned from using biochar on their land.

· Producing Biochar on Farm: Gain practical knowledge from a farmer who has taken the initiative to produce their own biochar. Learn about their set-up, production process, and how they are using biochar to benefit their enterprise.
