Workshop Structure

1. Understanding Ecosystems and Biodiversity
Dive into ecosystems through interactive exercises and collaborative activities. Explore the relationships between species, habitats, and human pressures, building a shared understanding of how biodiversity supports life and why it’s under threat.

• Recreate an Ecosystem: Participants work in small groups to recreate an ecosystem and uncover the impacts of human disturbances.
• Learn: Work with 39 cards, distributed in 5 sets, to identify what biodiversity is, what it enables, and what threatens it.
• Create and Decorate a Collage: Turn your ecosystem insights into a visual collage. Decorate it, give it a title, and present your ecosystem story to other groups.

2. Reflecting on Implications
Biodiversity loss can feel overwhelming. This session provides space to process insights, helping participants move from concern to a mindset of agency and purpose.

3. Action & PURE’s Awareness to Impact Path
The workshop concludes by exploring solutions at individual, organisational, and systems levels. Using PURE’s Awareness to Impact Path, participants leave with a practical plan to take actionable steps toward protecting biodiversity and driving long-term, positive change.
