About this event

Join us online to hear from our Head of Department, Professor James Moir, about what we have been getting up to in the Department of Biology and some of the amazing work we have been doing during the pandemic.

Dr David Kent will then deliver a talk entitled "A track of the clones: New genomic approaches to understanding health and disease". Here he will give an overview of new tools in genomics that are available to help researchers study blood stem cells in people. From understanding how normal blood is produced during ageing to how blood stem cells are corrupted to drive leukaemia to how we can track stem cells in gene therapy patients, genomic technologies are giving us unprecedented insight into how our cells compete amongst one another throughout life. This will be followed by a question and answer session.

We really hope you can join us and look forward to seeing you there.
