We will be using the GrapeVine software networking platform to recreate our popular Biotech Buddies networking meet-ups and linking up with the UK's biggest national biotech event Genesis by One Nucleus. The GrapeVine software enables you, the user, to choose who you speak with. Innovation R&D companies, investors and those registered to the Genesis 2020 event can come free of charge. Consultants and Service companies can book for a nominal fee, we need to stay afloat somehow! lol

At a glance, the GrapeVine platform looks like a Wedding Reception Dinner Floorplan. By hovering your mouse over the participants on each table generates a "virtual" business card so you can see who is at each table, and then you choose to join them seamlessly in a similar way that you choose a seat when choosing a seat on an aeroplane. Once on a Table, it's like a Zoom meeting with the 5-6 people on that table.

Further quick links are provided when you are "virtually" sitting down like a person's LinkedIn profile, so you can research peoples backgrounds as you speak to them. You then choose when you leave to join another table, or simply take a break from the networking when nature calls or your kids call you, or you just want some of your own time to take notes.

I love this software as it empowers you, the user, to deploy your own networking and relationship building strategy - and it is so intuitive to use. It is the closest you will get to real-life face-to-face networking whilst you operate in a virtual new world. It takes 5 minutes to set up your own profile on the system, which will be there for the next time you decide to join us again, and you will!

It is a relaxed "camera on" forum, where we encourage you to bring your favourite drink and enjoy the experience. 2 hours might sound a long time, however, believe me, once you are in a conversation with ole comrades, or your new potentially biggest customer, the time flies by. We will keep the event going on longer, until you have finished, however I know the busy period will be 5-7 pm, the time the special guests have been asked to be around for :).

This is also an event that you can pop-in and pop-out depending on your schedule and you play by your own rules (however we strongly discourage monologue sales pitches). Remember, you may not be talking directly with your next biggest customer, but through network referral, they may introduce you to your next biggest customer! That is what networking is about after all!!

We charge a nominal fee to Service Providers and Consultants to keep out the "Riff Raff," and this enables us to continually deliver for the community high-quality events! Investors and Innovator Company Executives can book for free. Of course, I will be checking whether people misrepresent themselves on the booking system during the evening, and will evict anybody that tries to cheat this system. This virus will not defeat us or, stop us networking effectively, thanks to great technology and events like this that are built from the ground-up.
