Event description
A winter walk around the village of Bramfield where we might see hawfinches.

About this event

Bramfield village is 14 miles from St Albans and is visited by hawfinches some winters where they can often be seen in the grounds of the church.

Park in the car park towards the end of Bury Lane, on the left, looking across the sports field.

Our 3 mile walk will cross the field to the church, follow hedges into woodland, where it can be wet and muddy, before returning to the car park.

The event is free but a voluntary donation of £2 per person is suggested.

All welcome, whatever your level of birdwatching knowledge. There are some slopes and uneven ground, so wear suitable footwear - it could be very muddy.

It will go ahead if it is raining. Call Rob on 07512 704744 for further details.

We might take photos of the event to publicise future events. If you do not wish to appear in them, please let the leader know.

Please note, due to COVID-19, we will be using these procedures:

  • We will not be able to share optical equipment so bring your own binoculars and telescopes.
  • We will aim to maintain 2m distances while walking.
  • All people attending the walk should book individually using Eventbrite so that we have a complete record of contact details to be used for Track & Trace purposes. We will keep contact records for 21 days, and delete records after that time.
  • If you have displayed Coronavirus symptoms in the 24 hours before the walk, please do not attend, and follow Government self-isolation advice.
