Are Children allowed at event?

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Are dogs allowed at the event?

Given the nature of the event dogs are not permitted on the walk

Do I need to have my own binoculars/ bird ID?

If you have your own binoculars, great bring them along. We will provide sets to those who do not have any. We will also bring along any bird identification literature that is needed.

Is this suitable for people with mobility issues?

The area is fairly compact, flat with defined paths and should provide a manageable walk. However there are some areas of steps which may prove difficult to manoeuvre if mobility is limited.

Welcome bird enthusiasts! Join us for a Bird Walk and Talk with Adam Ringland at Glenlyon Park, Holywood Co Down on January 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Let's explore the beautiful surroundings and learn about our feathered friends from the knowledgeable Adam Ringland. Adam is one of many volunteers who support bird conservation at Northern Ireland's only Bird Observatory, Copeland Bird Observatory on Lighthouse Island, one of the Copeland Islands near Donaghadee. Adam is also a volunteer for the bird ringing and nest recording schemes administered by the British Trust for Ornithology.

We'll meet in the car park, location whatthreewords ///crest.reject.outlooks and begin the walk at 10.30am.
