Park for free in the reserve car park and meet the rest of the group in the visitor centre. It will be open from 10am until 5pm and has toilets, a cafe and good birding from its panoramic windows. Essex Wildlife Trust will ask for a £2 contribution to enter the reserve.
We will then walk on good trails to visit various hides. We might also return to our cars and drive short distances to one or two other good birding spots with our guide, Andrew.
Feel free to bring sandwiches or to have lunch in the cafe and to head home whenever you wish.
This visit is part of a weekend of birding in Suffolk where we intend staying in a hotel in or around Ipswich on the Friday and Saturday nights. If you are interested in joining for the weekend, please email st-albans-rspb@hotmail.co.uk for furher details.
Rather than pay another £2 to us, you may prefer to email us to let us know that you are coming.
