Birds, Butterflies and Bees of Thixendale
Sat 10 June 2017, 10:30 – 13:00 BST
Join our expert naturalist Jack Ashton-Booth for this informative stroll through a stunning Yorkshire Wold valley to spot birds, bees and butterflies.
During the summer months the chalk valleys of the Wolds are a carpet of beautiful wildflowers that attract rare butterflies, bumblebees and birds. Jack will point out the species of butterfly and birdlife as you walk.
After your walk you are invited into the Thixendale gallery of the acclaimed artist Robert E Fuller to browse his stunning collection of paintings of the birds you will have just spotted in the wild.
This walk will involve a steep climb and requires a medium level of fitness. You will need sturdy, outdoor shoes and either a fleece and raincoat or sun hat and sun cream, according to the weather. Also bring binoculars if you have them.
