Join the RSPB warden and explore the Copperhouse Pool area of Hayle. Pick up hints and tips to help identify the birds which over- winter and stop to feed at Hayle Estuary nature reserve.
This very short walk is perfect for families, buggy and wheelchair users and offers a close up and more intimate view of bird life from the walkway which runs alongside the pool.
This is the season when birds return to the estuary in good numbers. Have fun, enjoy watching and identifying waders including oystercatchers, ringed plovers, sanderlings, dunlins, black-tailed and bar-tailed godwits, curlews, greenshanks and redshanks. We'll help you spot great black-backed and lesser black-backed gulls along with herring and common gulls - not forgetting Mediterranean and black-headed gulls.
Cost: Adults £5, children free (payable on the day at the start of the event).
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.
Booking essential - but tickets are not required as we will have a list of attendees.
(Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Please bring warm clothing in case temperatures drop).
