Birmingham city centre fossil hunt
Sun 8 January 2017, 11:00 – 13:00 GMT
Join the Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust for a short guided walk around Birmingham City Centre to delve into the geological past and discover ancient coral reefs in the walls of buildings!
This geowalk will be led by a geologist who will be on hand to help identify your discoveries and answer your questions about ancient geology and how it affects modern life.
The circular route will take in five stops around Central Birmingham, starting at the Town Hall, and will take you on a journey back in time to 330 million years ago when Britain was a lush tropical seaside!
This event is free, but if you are able to make a donation this will go towards our work in protecting and enhancing the urban environment for wildlife and people. Places are limited to 15 so book early! Suitable for all ages.
Please book as many places as your party needs, ie three bookings for three people. A small donation (suggested £3) is needed to secure your place. Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day! Meet near the Iron Man statue in Victoria Square, B3 3DQ.
