Birmingham Coaches to National Stand Up to Racism Demonstration in London
Sat 18 March 2017, 08:00 – 19:00 GMT
Coaches will leave Birmingham at 8:30 am from outside Carrs Lane Church Centre
Confronting racism remains a key challenge for our society. Theresa May is using the rights of EU migrants as a bargaining chip in Brexit negotiations. Refugees are left to drown in the Mediterreanean or locked out by border fences. Islamophobia and antisemitism are being fuelled across Europe.
As part of UN global anti-racist day, Stand Up to Racism is calling for a major demonstration in London to confront the rise of racism.
We say refugees are welcome here. We say migrants are not to blame. We say no to islamophopia and antisemitism.
Over the past 4 years, Stand Up to Racism has organised protests in defence of migrants and refugees. At our recent conference, 1,500 participants - including Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott, Lord Alf Dubs and others - launched a mass anti racist movement. Join us in London in March 2017 to stand up to racism together.
