Birmingham Lawyers Against Poverty
Join Oxfam and other lawyers to discuss how we can change the world. It’s a chance to meet other lawyers who care about changing our world and discuss how we can do it. Learn more about Oxfam Lawyer’s Against Poverty’s work and how you can get involved, which may involve getting involved in an existing projects or setting up your own with support from other lawyers passionate about increasing access to justice.
Discussion tables include:
- Refugee Task Force – educating refugees within the UK of their civil rights and opening doors to employment opportunities
- Public Interest Litigation – creating platforms and web content to educate and provide practical guidance to individuals and communities globally on matters affecting their rights
- Twinning - connecting solicitors in the UK with those working in less developed countries, building a community of solicitors, at any stage in their life or career, who can work together across borders to help achieve access to justice.
