Birmingham Pound Open Meeting
Mon 27 March 2017, 17:30 – 19:30 BST
This meeting is to collectively identify how to progress the Birmingham Pound. We will share with you what we have been working on and what we've found - both the inspiration and potential that got us involved in the first place, and the nuts and bolts of how we could run the currency.
Together we'll look at:
the financial model - the ways we've identified to sustain its running costs and what that means
what impact we've found other currencies have had across the UK and further afield
our conclusions for how it might work in Birmingham and over what timescale.
Then we'll open it out to discussion. We are looking for people to question, comment and hopefully agree on whether the Birmingham Pound goes ahead. This will involve agreeing on what model is used and who can commit to taking it forward.
We're very keen that we only go ahead if we have a robust way of making it self-sufficient and that it will be effective in its aims of making an inclusive, equitable and diverse Birmingham economy.

We hope you can come - just bring yourself and an open mind!
