Rivington Terraced Gardens: the collaboration of Lever & Mawson - ‘None comes into competition’

The Rivington Terraced Gardens, around the hilltop home of Lord Leverhulme, are a tribute to the collaboration of an extraordinary owner with the renowned landscape architects TH Mawson & Sons. Maria Luczak, who has worked extensively at Rivington and other Leverhulme landscapes, will talk about the remarkable story of their creation.

Maria will also tell the fascinating story of the relationship between Leverhulme and Mawson, the gardens they created and their conservation after a long period of dereliction and encroachment by woodland. Rivington Terraced Gardens, with their many Listed buildings and structures, are being conserved and emerging from their slumber.

The lecture starts at 6.30pm and your ticket includes a glass of wine/soft drink.
