About this Event

This event is part of Birmingham Tech Week 2019

''Birmingham Tech Week is a collaborative series of events taking place across the City (and wider Greater Birmingham Region) between October 7th – 13th 2019. The week will highlight Birmingham’s burgeoning Tech Scene and focus on a number of innovative topics.''

This Healthcare Technologies Institute (HTI) event is about breaking barriers to access the healthcare market through innovation, technical advancements and right people right place. The event will offer opportunities to collaborate with experts, develop business and get up to £3000 of direct free support* through our “Dragons Den style” event.

The event consists of a series of brief presentations from: The Healthcare Technologies Institute, Institute of Translational Medicine, Birmingham Health Partners, Birmingham Life Sciences Park, Innovate UK, Oxford Computer Consultants, REM3DY HEALTH, NICE; The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, NIHR; National Institute for Health Research and Enterprise Europe Network, at the Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. The event will give delegates information on how to access the Healthcare market with ideas/inventions/technologies, determine the commercial potential and overcome the regulatory blockages many businesses could encounter.

This will be followed by optional short tours of our state of the art laboratory’s and surgical simulation suite. We will then have a Dragons Den style panel that will consist of experts from: commercial, innovation & medical technology backgrounds.

If you are invited to present you would get the opportunity to pitch your idea/invention/technology to our panel of experts either through discussion or presentation. There will then be opportunity to receive expert feedback on developing your journey and the chance to win £3000 worth of support.

You are required to send a 250 word summary of your pitch by 30th September 2019 for initial evaluation/review.

(You will receive confirmation by 3rd October if you are one of the successful applicants.)
