This course is for women and birthing people booked to give birth at Whipps Cross hospital.
Please book ONE ticket per couple (You and your support person)
Please cancel your ticket promptly if no longer required, so that someone else can book a space.
We recommend you aim to participate in these classes when you are around 30-32 weeks pregnant.
The whole course consists of 3 sessions:
- Physiology of labour
- Deviations from physiological labour
- Postnatal period and looking after newborn baby
Please book these sessions separately. Each class lasts approximately two - two and a half hours, including break.
Session 3 - Postnatal period and looking after newborn baby
In this session you will learn about:
- Appointments after giving birth
- Postnatal care and recovery
- Care of the newborn
- Mental wellbeing of women/birthing people and their partners
- When to seek medical advice
- Safe sleeping and SIDS
