Event description
Give your child a birthday to remember and go wild with Surrey Wildlife Trust!

About this event

Parties will be taking place at Nower Wood between 22nd May and 31st October 2021 (subject to Government Covid-19 guidance).

All parties will be held outdoors - the party room will only be available for parties taking place after 19th July.

Choose your ticket type based on the day and time you wish to book for and then pay your £50 deposit to secure your booking.

Parties are also offered in the winter season and on weekdays during school holidays subject to party tutor availability - please email or call 01372 379509 to check availability.

A minimum charge of £150 applies for parties with fewer than 10 children attending. The remaining balance after the deposit can be paid in person on the day of the party by cash or card.

Give them a wild birthday!

Surrey Wildlife Trust's nature themed birthday parties are crammed full with fun activities and wild games!

Our parties are designed to give your children a fun-packed day and to keep yours stress-free!  Choose from a variety of party themes here.

Please refer to our website and read the "Important Information" section (located below the "Booking Information and Prices" paragraph) before you make a booking.

FAQs - please ensure you have read through the following FAQs before contacting us with questions.

What's the refund policy?

You may request a refund up to 30 days before the date of your party. Should you cancel your booking within 30 days of the event, we will consider a refund only if we are able to resell your party slot.

Is there any flexibility in the number of children I can bring?

No - there is absolutely no flexibility on this. Due to health and safety reasons, we cannot have larger groups than stated in our guidelines.  From years of experience we have learnt that having too many children attending spoils the experience of the party.

Is there any flexibility in the number of adults I can bring?

If a child has special needs and receives 1:1 support at school, then you are required to bring an additional adult to provide this support to them during the the party activities. Other than this, we do not allow more than 3 adults to accompany the children at the party.

When can I arrive to set up? And when do I have to leave by?

As there are other parties running on the same day, you must ensure that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before your designated party slot, e.g. 12:45pm is the earliest you may arrive for 1-3pm party. This 15 minute window is enough time for you to set up the party room. You must also ensure that your group is off site and that the room is cleared by 15 minutes after the end of your party, e.g. a 1-3pm party must depart by 3:15pm.

What do we do about party food?

Please bring your own birthday cake/snacks, drinks and utensils with you. You will have 30 minutes to eat your party tea before your party ends. Parents often bring small boxes (1 per child) pre-packed with sandwiches etc to give out to the children.  Parents have tried using delivery companies before but they were often late (or couldn’t find us) which caused a problem for all.

For parties taking place before 19th July 2021, your party tea will take place outside, under our outdoor shelter (which is adjacent to the field centre). Please be aware there are no chairs or tables available in this area, it is just lovely and rustic - there are log stumps for the children to sit on (which add to their overall woodland experience with us!). There are also some outdoor benches close to this area that you are welcome to use.

For parties taking place after 19th July 2021, your party tea will take place in our party room.

Your party will end promptly at12noon (if a morning party) or at 3pm (if an afternoon party).

What facilities does the centre have that I can use?

Please be aware there is no access to any cooking facilities or a fridge. Please bring a cool box with an ice pack in it to keep things cool, if required.

For parties taking place before 19th July 2021, if you require hot drinks, please bring these with you. There is drinking water available from a tap located on the outside of the building where you can top up water bottles if required.

For parties taking place after 19th July 2021, you are welcome to use our kettle which we can put in the room you have booked (drinking water is available from the tap at the sink in the room). There is access to a guest wifi network that you may request the password to.

There are toilets available on site (including a "Changing Places" toilet for those who are not able to use the toilet independently).

Will the party include a fire with marshmallows toasting?

Only if you book a BASECAMP party and bring some marshmallows with you for the children to toast on the fire.

In case of nice weather, can we set up tables and chairs outside?

For parties taking place after 19th July 2021, our party room has a wooden decking area and you are welcome to take our table and chairs out on to the decking to sit outside if you wish to.

Is it possible to visit the venue before the party?

Yes, subject to staff availability. We recommend you arrange a pre-visit to take place at 3:30pm on a Saturday or a Sunday when our party tutor is on site (they are not available any earlier than this as they will be busy taking parties!). Alternatively, the field centre is usually open Mon-Fri 9am-4pm and so you are welcome to book a pre-visit to meet one of our team members during the week. To book your pre-visit, contact us at when you know which date you would like to pop over.

Will the party take place even if it rains?

Yes – please ensure the children bring wet weather clothing and wellie boots with them.  The only time we do not run the party is in dangerous weather conditions such as a storm force gale – in which case your deposit will be returned to you.

I have paid my £50 non refundable deposit, when do I pay the remaining balance?

You will pay the remaining balance on the day, by exact cash, card or cheque (made payable to Surrey Wildlife Trust). The remaining balance is based on how many children attend the part on the day, but is subject to a minimum charge of 10 children.

What should I do about decorations?

If using our party room, tables and chairs will be set up for you, but please bring your own decorations. We are afraid that we can’t attach them to the walls, but table decorations are welcome. We really recommend thinking 'eco' when you plan your decorations - we aim to be plastic free!

Can I bring my dog?

No dogs are permitted on site.
