Teaching Event 2

Join us for the second of our 2025 Bishop's Teaching Events to learn more about the five marks of Anglican mission and what they mean for your church and community. This event is perfect for anyone looking to boost their knowledge and skills on how to grow their local church and engage the wider community. Network with friends, participate in interactive sessions and make the most of this educational opportunity. We look forward to seeing you.

The event will begin at 9:30 am and end at 1:00 pm with repeated workshops, allowing participants to choose two of the three workshops.

Workshop 1 will focus on children, youth and intergenerational ministry including schools and will offer creative tools to help us work in these areas. This will be lead by our Intergenerational Mission Lead Lizzie Hackney with our Youth Hub Coordinator Heather Martin with support from our education team.

Workshop 2 will focus on the environment and how we can care for God's creation. This will include Eco Church, Borderlands Rural Chaplaincy, outdoor worship and getting our church to Net Zero. Our diocesan Mission Enabler for the Environment, Revd Steve Hollinghurst, will lead this along with our Net Zero Project Manager, Ian Hill.

Workshop 3 will be led by Rev'd Andy Ackroyd from St Michael's Madeley, and will be about Count Everyone In. This is a registered UK charity focusing on inspiring and equipping churches in England and Wales to be welcoming and accessible to everyone, especially adults with learning disabilities. Reverend Andy is a trainer for the charity, and parent of a 19 year old with LD.
