Description

Bite-sized Learning: Building your business for investment, growth or exit

Are you a small business owner keen to grow your company, but unsure exactly which steps to take? Perhaps you want to make your business more attractive to investors - but your team lacks the experience needed to implement those vital changes. Or maybe you want a clearly defined exit strategy, but don’t have enough hours in the day to think this all through?

Using a unique scorecard system to analyse your business performance, Anthony McGaw defines the key factors that make a successful company, and one attractive for a possible exit. The session will highlight a set of 20 criteria to assess your organisation. These criteria include reflecting on where your business sits amongst your competitors, the diversity of your customer base, a look at your three-year horizon, and level of customer satisfaction.

This Bite-sized will include:

  • Scoring your business using the 20 criteria
  • Reviewing what the score means for your business
  • Understanding how others view your organisation
  • Highlighting how to improve your score for successful investment, growth or an exit

You’ll learn how to create a scorecard for the current state of your business and develop a holistic understanding of what to look for in a successful business. You’ll understand the criteria that investors and potential buyers use to value your business, clarifying what areas need more development. You’ll come away with a valuable set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure - and then improve - your business performance.

Book your place for tools on how to successfully prepare for investment, growth or an exit.

Who For? Small business owners with a basic understanding of financial forecasting who want to build their business to the next stage. This session is not suitable for micro businesses, multi-nationals or companies listed on the stock market.

Who by? Anthony McGaw has 25 years’ experience of working with creative and technology companies. He has co-founded several businesses, raising investment and building two to a successful exit. As the co-founder of strategic consultancy, AOB, he and his team help business owners successfully scale up.
