Bite-sized Learning: Introduction to major donor fundraising
In a climate of reduced public sector funding and greater competition for other sources of funds, where do you turn? Major donor fundraising could be the answer. In this workshop, you’ll get a valuable insight into how it could work for your organisation.
Where? The 1st Central County Ground, Eaton Road, Hove, BN3 3AN
When? Tuesday 27 September, 09:30 - 11:30
Who For? Trustees, directors, chief executives and fundraisers from charities and not-for-profits, including social enterprises.
Who By? Janet Ormerod, Funding Advisor and Consultant, Nahira Consultancy. Janet has been highly successful in developing and fundraising for a number of charities in the South East over the last twenty years. She set up Nahira Consultancy in 2016 to provide funding advice and consultancy services for charities and not-for-profits across Sussex.
Recruiting major donors was once considered exclusive territory for the big national charities. No longer: smaller local charities and not-for-profits are now realising they can do it too. But how?
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the essential building blocks of successful major donor fundraising. This is a tried-and-tested eight-step process, including:
• How to identify, research and engage with prospects.
• The building blocks you need to be successful.
• The role of chairman, trustees, staff and ambassadors.
• Developing a team approach.
• Engaging with and involving potential supporters.
You’ll leave with the information and tools you need to decide whether and how to develop a major donor programme in your organisation.
