Description

OMGDPR

Dealing with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into effect on 25th May 2018 will be much easier if you have the right IT solutions in place to handle personal data in a way to comply with the legal obligations. This workshop will provide you with the advice you need to ensure you have the right technology configured in the right way to be compliant.

Where? The 1st Central County Ground, Eaton Road, Hove, BN3 3AN

When? Thursday 15 March, 09:30 - 11:30am

Who For? Business owners, data managers, marketing managers and anyone who doesn’t already have a clear plan to prepare their technology for GDPR.

Who By?

Daniel McNaught, of Invona, is a keen IT generalist with about 20 years’ experience supporting no small variety of organisations. He worked for IBM before launching Invona in 2013 after his customers asked him to do so.

Michelle Taylor is an IT and business co-ordinator with over 6 years of experience in supporting organisations of varying sizes. She has worked with multinational mining companies in South Africa with a focus on bridging the gap between IT and business.

Even though GDPR is a legal issue, it’s the technology you use to store data that will really make a difference to whether you are compliant or not, so it is sensible to approach it as an IT issue as well. That’s why this workshop will offer you a step by step guide to using technology to get GDPR compliant.

In this workshop, you’ll learn what is required to comply with GDPR from an IT perspective and how you can create an action plan to ensure you are compliant with plenty of time to spare.

During the session, you’ll receive all the tools you need to organise your data storing technology to comply with GDPR, get a hand out to take away and be able to discuss the issues with other attendees.

You’ll leave feeling confident that you can implement a simple step by step plan to get your technology ready for GDPR.
