Hour-long topic-based online workshops to deepen your understanding of Numicon

About this event

Perfect for staff-room meetings or school training, these bitesize digital workshops address key topics in a focused way. Lasting just one hour, the live sessions will guide you to use Numicon manipulatives to supports the CPA approach with the opportunity to interact and ask questions. Topics covered include teaching equivalence, fractions, mental calculation and developing number sense and fluency with Numicon.

Key Learning Outcomes

This digital workshop is designed to enable you to:

  • Develop an understanding of the Numicon Baseboard and how it can make abstract mathematical ideas real and visible
  • To consider how the baseboard can support pupils to deepen their understanding of key mathematical concepts
  • To engage and experience activities involving the Numicon Baseboard
  • Discover useful ideas and strategies which can be applied back in your classroom

Tickets cost: £25 per person

Remote Training

Delivered in a 1 hour session, our new remote training allows you to access these new Numicon workshops virtually and without the travel costs. Book onto this course and receive a link to an interactive Microsoft Teams workshop, led by an expert Numicon consultant. You’ll have plenty of opportunities during the session to try out activities, ask questions and speak to Numicon users from other schools.

Who should attend?

Maths Subject Leaders, EYFS Teachers, Key Stage 1 and 2 Phase Leaders, Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers, Learning Support Staff and Teaching Assistants.

Registration

Once you have booked your ticket all delegates will receive a confirmation email containing a link to the digital sessions via Microsoft Teams. You will also receive a breakdown of the content in each session, as well as a list of resources or materials that you will need.
