Description

The Real Photography Company present two Black & White Darkroom Sessions, where expert photography tutor, Ruth Jacobs, will guide and support participants in all aspects of developing and printing.

6 till 8.30pm

Only £25 per session including materials

  • Supported darkroom sessions are suitable for anyone wishing to improve printing and processing skills. Ruth is available throughout the session to provide any help and advice you may need.

  • You will be able to process film and practise printing techniques such as dodging out and burning in. 35mm / medium format welcome.

  • The sessions will include making up darkroom chemistry so you will feel more confident about using the darkroom independently following the sessions.

  • Suitable for previous course participants in black & white film-based photography, St Pauls Darkroom Members, and anyone seeking to refresh their darkroom skills.

  • Maximum 10 participants, £25 per session includes photographic paper and darkroom chemistry. Please bring your own film(s) to develop. We can help you develop any black & white film except XP2, which uses colour processing.

  • Supported darkroom sessions take place at the spacious and well-equipped community darkrooms at St Pauls Learning Centre which is fully accessible and open to the public 7 days a week. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Participants should be aged 16 and over

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking at St Pauls Learning Centre is limited, however, you can park on quiet streets nearby without difficulty, free of charge after 5pm. There are regular bus services along Stokes Croft, a short walk away, and the No.5 goes along nearby City Rd through St Pauls.

What should I bring with me to the sessions?

Please bring your own negatives to print from, film to process and / or any photography project material you would like help with.

Can you accommodate medium format?

Yes, we have the facilities for you to develop your medium format film and print from medium format negatives.

What's the refund policy?

You can have a full refund up to 7 days before the workshop, and a refund after that if your place on the session can be sold to another participant before the start date. Eventbrite's booking fee is non-returnable, sorry!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring proof of registration on paper or your smartphone

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Please don't pass your ticket on to someone else unless you are buying it as a present.
