About this Event
Join us to hear from some of the artists contributing to our Black, Asian and Minoritized Ethnic colouring book, launching later this month. Get involved in the discussion with your chance to ask questions to panelists other attendees.
Our panelists:
- Jesse Jones is a self-taught Artist from Bradford of mixed-race British/Jamaican heritage currently based in London.
- Katie Yang is a British Chinese artist specialising in 2D animation, currently based in York.
- Lily Hammond is an illustrator and designer. She owns Uwu Studio and creates work heavily influenced by patterns, colour and textiles from Africa.
- Nahuel Contreras is an illustrator from London. He describes his artistic practice as being a means to self-discovery, and self-articulation, as his work brings visibility to Black LGBTQIA+ lives.
- Luke Bullen is an artist, illustrator and knitwear designer based in Peterborough.
- Eloise Wayling is an illustrator and animator who loves making work that can hopefully inspire some love!
This discussion will be hosted by Bhakti Mistry who has been involved with the project from the start, as well as an APS team member who will act as a moderator.
We will also offer a break-out room as a safe space to go at any time if you have difficulty listening to the topics discussed.
Accessibility
This panel will be conducted over Zoom and last 1 hour, followed by 30 minutes for Q&A. We are currently unable to offer the support of a BSL interpreter. Whilst we are currently limited by funding constraints this is something that we are looking to develop and improve and we are always keen to hear how we can do better.
